1. Is the current process repeatable?
If a few experienced people rescue every difficult day, adding volume will make that dependence worse. Write down the readiness checks, owners and escalation points first.
2. Does the capacity arrive as a complete unit?
A driver without a ready van, service area and workable route is not usable capacity. Plan those pieces together.
3. Can frontline support keep up?
Dispatch, coaching and quality support need to grow with route count. Otherwise small issues travel further before anyone owns them.
4. Are the measures useful and fair?
Teams need a short set of measures they understand and can influence. Extra reports are not a substitute for a clear decision.
5. Do the economics still work?
Check fleet use, service recovery, retention and management load as well as revenue. Volume that weakens those numbers may not be worthwhile growth.
